Our Policies

This area of the website deals with how our office is organized and provides information on the administrative details of our practice.

Office hours

Our office hours are as follows:

  • Monday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

In the event of an emergency during non-office hours the doctor’s number can be found on our answering machine. During office hours we have set aside time each day in the schedule for emergency dental appointments, so if the need arises one can be accomadated quite easily.

Dental Insurance

We can currently send insurance claims electronically. This provides faster response and payment by your insurance carrier. To find our more information on electronic dental insurance click here. For your convenience we can accept payment by visa, mastercard or cheque. In the case of extensive treatment payment plans can be created.

Scheduling

For regular dental check-ups and cleanings we like to schedule patients at the time of their last cleaning. We understand that this appointment may change as the appointment date comes closer. For new patients we generally schedule about one hour for the first appointment. This complete exam allows us to record baseline information of the oral region and then provide a treatment plan to the patient. For all of our patients we require a comprehensive medical history before providing any treatment. All of a patient’s information is restricted to the office alone unless otherwise consented to leave the office by the patient.

About the website

This website was designed to provide general information on dental topics. In addition, it also provides information on the philosophies and policies of the Mount Joy Dental Clinic. This website was not designed to provide a diagnosis or treatment plan to any patient. A diagnosis should only be made after a thorough examination by a dental professional.
